Shyness is a personality trait, which means an excessive self-focus and afraid of others' evaluation will cause unease emotion and behavior tendencies in interpersonal situations. Shyness is not only a discomfort or inhibition behavior, but also a good manner to behavior adjustment. It includes apprehension others' opinions, handicap of participation, self-exposure, self-blame tendencies. A research on shyness could make people understand deeply about the process of social interaction, especially when the thing goes badly. When human being feel uneasy or embarrassment, shyness is an adjustment and mediation to unsuitable social behavior. In addition, A research on shyness has an important practical significance to mental health, and how to develop perfect personality, especially to those live unhappy because of shyness. Furthermore, there are cultural difference between Asian and Western. Shyness is negative on the whole to Western, Because shy people adapt badly, but it is acceptable to Chinese women , sometimes it is nice ,because it is consistent to Chinese women's gender role of softness and connotation. Therefore, it is useful to design a shyness questionnaire according to our country's reality.Based on literature review, opening questionnaire , discussing together with experts in this field and putting forward with own theory hypothesis .After conducting the preliminary questionnaire and analyzing the data by applying exploratory factor analysis, we get a formal shyness questionnaire .Then we apply many methods to test the questionnaire's reliability and validity including demography test.The results of this study are as follows:1) Shyness is a personality trait that involves apprehension others' opinions, handicap of...
