Personality Testing is being used frequently in variety fields as a tool to analyses individual personality. For lots of subjective factors such as motivation and attitude, the validity of testing would be decreased in the large-scale testing. Much works have been done to find a way to verify the test validity quickly and efficiently. Adding some special questions or designing the new scales is the most accepted method to reduce the influence of the social desirability and other factors, but it usually functions poorly in the large-scale testing. As an objective index of the psychological test, reaction time is a potential factor as an accompanying-state of the test and to some extent is relative to the personality. This paper tried to find the characters and irregularity of the answer reaction time in psychological test so as to examine the effect of using reaction time index to increase the validity of personality testing.The study includes two parts. As the first part, 1309 subjects were included and separated into 3 groups: 493 freshmen of science in a university, 330 freshmen of arts, and 486 recruits.
