The Research Of The Format "Not X Not Y" In Mandarin

This paper mainly focuses on the Chinese format "Not X Not Y" and the corresponding issues.It is composed of three parts apart from the preface and the conclusion.In part one the frozen format is analysed. The format is classified into the drilled type and the made-up type in the made-up form and abo into four types in the nature of the word.Then the semantic type of the format is discussed in detail .In addition,the format is analysed in the use of language and cognition And the grammar function of the format is analysed,finding it has only the verb and adjective function.Finally,the expansion form "X not X, Y not Y" in the reason of the formation,expansion form and related format. The format is compared with the similar one lest it shouldn't be correctly used in the actual utilization of the language.In part two the fomat through the combination of the meaning is discussed.The format is classified scientifically into three types from three perspectives,including the reduced formula and the separate formula, simple formula and complex formula, the same subject formula and the different subject formula.The format is classified into non-logical formula and logical formula in the semantics perspective;in the meantime,the special semantics of the format is discussed,including the wishful want, circumstantial essential, the inferential necessity,explaining the speciality of the formatFinally,the format "not X not Y" is compared with the similar fomat "no X not Y",finding that there are many similar aspects in the structure,semantics and the use of the lahguage.However,there are many different aspects that is analysed as the importantIn part three the connected format is analysed.The format is classified into generalized causes and effects ,generalized transition, generalized compound in the generalized logical meaning; then,it is classified into the reduced formula and the separate formula in the second time in the made-up form. The abbreviation and the concealment , the same and the different of the subject are analysed specially because of the complexity of the subject , the condition and the function of the abbreviation and the concealment being also done.Finally,the special use of the language is analysed when adding the "not" to the sentence, the change in the logical semantics and expression and the cause of change being done.
