Basic sketch teaching, as an approach of developing the students'ability to construct the shape, lays a solid foundation for fostering the qualified talents of arts. But it's universally seen that in Chinese university too much emphasis is put on the norm and oneness of sketch teaching, and the personal and multi elements in it are totally ignored. The present endeavor is to make an analysis of the current situation of basic sketch teaching as well as the problems found in it, trying to pave the way for cultivating student's personality, imagination and creativity in terms of basic construction of the shape. The thesis would be unfolded as follows:Firstly, the historical background of development of basic sketch in China as well as the role played by it is to be elaborated in detail, then, the importance of reforming basic sketch teaching can be naturally attached. Secondly. Based on the awareness of current situation as well as the problems found in it, the author of the thesis has proved the necessity and importance of the role played by creative thinking in developing students'personalityLast but not least, through the rethinking on the basic sketch and the application of Multi -basic sketch teaching, the author the present thesis is in position to explore a solution to the reform of basic sketch teaching.
