Every language has its own features , these features also decide the principles that teaching must obey. As for Chinese language, some theories, like "morpheme teaching method", "word-base teaching method" are both practical and effective. By analyzing the errors that foreign students made in TCSL(teaching Chinese as second language),this paper is trying to find out the reasons of these error, so that get some useful teaching methods.This paper has five chapters. The first chapter is introduction. In this chapter, we introduced the importance and present situation of word-teaching in middle and advanced level. By doing so, we analyze its shortcomings, and so give our own topic. The second chapter expound the SLAT(second language acquisition theory), which includes "inter-language theory" and "error analysis theory" .those two theories are closely related to word-teaching. The third chapter first analyzes the foreign students' errors, from three aspects: the cognition aspect, the semantic aspect, and the pragmatics aspect, then divide them into four categories, finally summarizes the reasons that cause such errors. According to the analyses of chapter 3, the fourth chapter gives five kind of solutions. Of cause, these methods are somewhat good , while somewhat bad ,so it's better to use them alternatively. The last chapter summarizes the whole paper.
