On study of verb errors, in the past the scholars paid more attention to the solecism of verbs, especially the locality of verbs and framework of syntax interrelated with verbs, few scholars studied errors of verbs usage in the points of view of meaning and some only mentioned a little about errors because of meaning when they analysed solecism of verbs at most. So far we haven't found such an article specially studying semantic errors of verbs. This dissertation attempts to study the semantic errors of action verbs and mentality verbs used by Euramerican students in the point of view of lexics and semantics with an eye to lexical meaning of verbs. We describe the types, tendency and distributing of the misuse errors and improper arranging in pairs or groups errors of verbs with the correlation of meaning. We also analyse the causes of errors and discriminate the meaning and usage of miscible verbs for the sake of expanding the visual field of study on the glossary of Chinese interlanguage and supplying some valuable gists for the glossary teaching of Chinese as a second language. The principal part of this paper has 4 chapters hereinafter:1. Studying the use of miscible verbs. Firstly we did statistics on the use of the verbs and semantic errors; we found the semantic error was the central error form of the two kinds of verbs. We summarized the main type of semantic errors, which was misuse error. Then we found the rules of errors of the two kinds of verbs. Finally after comparing the usage of the action verbs and the mentality verbs, we found their similarities and differences.2. Analysing the misuse of verbs. Through studying the misuse errors of verbs, we found that the misuse errors of verbs have some tendency: single to single, single to many, many to single, many to many, and the most complex errors and the most errors are many to many. The relationship among the misuse verbs is complicated: Some meanings are near and some meanings are far off. We native speakers rarely misuse the verbs which are far off in meaning, but the foreign students often misuse them because of kinds of reasons. What's more, the ratio of misuse errors is high. Therefore when we study and analyse the miscible verbs we should fix on words to discriminate according to the foreign students not we native speakers' sense of language.3. Analysing the causations of verb misusages. We mainly analysed the causations from the language knowledge, teaching factors and the students themselves several aspects and we found...
