Teacher-questioning in classroom is one of the main classroom exchange activities, and also one of the important means to strengthen the students' results of learning and help teachers to reach the goal of teaching, therefore the Questioning Teaching Methodology becomes one of the most important teaching methodologies in English teaching.By observing and statisticing an transcription from the tape-records of 16 intensive reading lessons in two higher vocational colleges with a questionnaire, the present situations of the Questioning Teaching Methodology in higher vocational colleges are analyzed from seven aspects and conclusions are drawn: 1) the question cognition level is low, the actual effect is not high; 2) teachers neglects raising the student's questioning ability; 3) the time teachers give students to ponder and consummate answers is serious insufficient; 4) the appraisal forms which replied to the students is unitary, lacking of guidance. Strategies are proposed on how to question, how to induct the students to answer and how to appraise according to the conclusions from the empirical study, together with the author's own experience in the hope of exploring a best teaching method which is suitable for higher vocational English classroom instruction, offering some reference for the research about this field in higher vocational English classroom teaching at present of our country, causing teachers and educational researchers to pay enough attention to this valuable course resource of Questioning Teaching Methodology .
