In recent years,with the advancement of internationalization,English has become a necessity for employees in the international background.Vocational education has gradually gained high status in our higher education.Therefore,English teaching in higher vocational education has gradually gained the attention of researchers.Many problems in our domestic higher vocational English teaching development have taken place frequently,such as“students scoring high with low ability of applying the language”,“deaf and dumb English”and the students' poor performance in English.As regards to these problems,more and more researchers are turning the research subject to effective English teaching in higher vocational colleges.The author,as one of the English teachers in higher vocational education,is ready to make a comprehensive research about this hot topic.This paper is divided into three parts:firstly the author explores the problem existing in our higher education by adopting the method of literature analysis,questionnaire investigation and interview.Then the author explained the meaning of effective teaching and relevant theories.Finally,the author puts forward specific measures in classroom teaching,which includes implementing individualized quality education to improve the efficiency;arousing students' interest;mobilizing their activity and cultivating their confidence,eliminating the anxiety.After the teaching practice,the classroom teaching effect is increased significantly,and the satisfaction of the students is also gradually increased.The experiment results tell us that the effective teaching strategy is feasible.
