This essay focuses on the learning and teaching of BI construction in the teaching of Chinese as a second language. As we know, every language includes comparative category. In Mandarin Chinese, there are many patterns to express this category. And BI construction is one of the most important patterns. It is also an important grammar in primary stage of learning Chinese as a second language. When we teach the overseas students and do the corpus collection, we find that it is a difficult grammar even when the students reach the advanced level. Therefore, we try to study this thesis in order to improve the learning and teaching of BI construction in the teaching of Chinese as a second language. Our study based on the three-dimension theory, and combined with theories of second language acquisition.The article divides into four parts:The first one introduces why the thesis is chosen and the theories, approaches and corpus used.Chapter one reviews main studies on this thesis both from the Mandarin Chinese area and the teaching of Chinese as a second language area.
