Study On Wang Xiaobo's Carnivalized Writing And Its Causes

The poetics of carnivalization, Bakhtin's original creation, had abundant academic significance and time value. According to Bakhtin, The source of camivalized literature was the age-old tradition of European carnivals, whose typical genre's character includes satirical parody and grotesquely. Its properties of heteroglossia and rite made the camivalized culture reflect the real life widely and profoundly, and it also had powerful function of subversion and dialogue. Since 1990's, because of the foundation of market economy system, the Chinese social formation became greatly change, and results in the transformation of culture and literature. So nearly every social aspect showed a kind style of carnival. By the Bakhtin's poetics of carnivalization, we could find that Wang Xiaobo's novels bear the ultimate attribute of carnivalization. The camivalized writing of Wang is closely connecting with his individual experience and Chinese traditional culture, but more important factor is the cultural context of 1990's. However, Wang Xiaobo's carnivalization and Bakhtin's carnivalization had the difference of sadness and joyance in spirit, due to their different beliefs and cultural backgrounds.
