The Research On American's Bilingual Education Under Multicultural Sight

The coexistence of multi-culture is the same feature around all nations today. Different countries, areas and nations have different culture traditions and values. Multicultural education rose in the 1960s and 1970s in the western developed countries. Multicultural education is based on respect for different cultures. An equal education is conducted among diverse cultures with objectives and plans in order to increase mutual understanding among diverse cultural groups. As far as American concerns, it's much more variable and complicate than any other country else both in n racial and culture. The bilingual education which is carrying out by the USA under it's multicultural background show us how to fill people's multicultural needs around common cultures. It directs effective ways for making the goal of bilingual education in countries and practicing bilingual education under multicultural surroundings. The research on multicultural education is having profound effects on China's bilingual education.This thesis consists of four parts.Introduction: The purpose for selecting this topic, the present research status, the methods of research and some concerned concepts.Part I: The theoretical research on multi-culture, multicultural education and bilingual education including the concept and development of multicultural and bilingual education.Part II: The history development of American's bilingual education and some concerned problems.Part III: The course and teaching of American's bilingual education .Part IV: A summary to the source and practice of the inspiration for Chinese bilingual education. And give a study on how to push Chinese bilingual education reform by using American's experience.
