Zhou and Han dynasty have the different significance in terms of the marriage as they were in the mature period of development of slavery and the forming period of feudalisation respectively. Marriage of the two dynasty also have their classical significance. It should be recognised that the comparison and analysis of the marriage recordation in the literary works of the two periods will have a great significance on the study of literature and history, as well as the folklore.Based on the study of literature and culture, this paper provides a comprehensive research of the marriage recorded in the literary works in Zhou and Han dynasty, using method of 'mutual verification of literature and history'. It aims to enhance the understanding of the literary works and have a more complete mastery of the development of form of the marriage in the early Chinese society, in which what position women were in and how they felt.The paper consists of preface, main part and conclusion. Preface is the general introduction of the study and the definition of the text. The main part consists of three chapters.The first chapter is to discuss the change in the feelings of women and men based on the review of literary works in Zhou and Han dynasty.The second chapter is still based on the literature review together with other historical information to compare the change and development of the marriage in the literary works, including cultural, social situation, the conclusion of marriage and life after marriage, as well as the sensibilities of women in the marriage.The third chapter analyses some issues related to the subject of love and marriage, such as Aesthetics and women chastity,The conclusion part summarises the research of previous three chapter and put forward some thinking about institution and relationships of different gender.
