The other really exists in the heart of Chinese-Thai despite of the deep influences of assimilation on Chinese-Thai communities, which affected Chinese-Thai literature so hardly that the other scarcely has been referred to. From the viewpoint of Chinese-Thai, this essay try to analyze the characters of the other and the culture of the other in Thai-Chinese Literature so as to discuss its narrative style and attitude and to explore Chinese-Thai's psychological transform during new period.This essay reviews the narrative of the other in Chinese-Thai literature since the 1980's from the aspect of character and culture. With regard to the former, Thai, Red Hair, and Indian are the main characters of foreign races. The narrator's attitudes towards the above three are extremely different: sympathy for the Thai, change from disgust, disablement and to initiative acceptance for the Red Hair, freemasonry and cherish for the Indian. With regard to the latter, in their works Chinese-Thai authors usually show mix and collision of two different cultures, which exhibit various proportions in different authors' works. The same factor on different authors is the appeal and aspiration for origin, which means not only the origin of Chinese culture, but also the origin of its own mainland.As to the narrative of the other in Chinese-Thai literature, presence and absence, stabilization and vicissitude, fabrication and reality are the affiliating and interrelating parts of a conflicting and unifying entity. Only from the viewpoint of Chinese race, could we probably reveal the fiction and appreciate the Chinese-Thai authors' psychological transform on the integration of various factors such as: history and realism, politics and culture.
