The compiling of texts has made great progress in recent years than ever before, absorbed various achievements in many areas. This paper makes a study on three sets of primary spoken Chinese textbooks that have been published since 2000, based on the ways of data-collecting statistics and questionnaires, and sets up a database containing five items of three sets of Chinese teaching materials. On this basis, according to the basic principles and theories of the compiling of spoken Chinese textbooks and combining the result of questionnaires, this paper makes an evaluation on the merits and shortcomings of each set of Chinese teaching material and summarizes some characteristics and rules in the compiling of texts. This paper includes seven chapters, divided into three major parts:The first part(1):This part discusses the reason for choosing this topic, theobject, angle and methods of the research.The second part(2-6): This part is the main part of the paper. We specifically analyze the similarities and differences in the characteristics of the compiling and arrangement, the choice of topics, the functional items, episodic items, cultural items, pointing out the advantages and disadvantages of texts of each teaching material, and further put forward some countermeasures.The third part(7):Based on the whole study, considering the reality of the compiling of teaching material, we propose some suggestions correspondingly.
