A Study On The Adjectives Grammar In Guoyu

Guoyu is one of the most important archaic scripture,which was written for what the people said at that time and had roughly reflected the operating position of chinese of earlier stage in the Warring States Period.The language of Guoyu is a connecting link between chinese represented by inscriptions on bones or tortoise shells of earlier stage and chinese written on Lvshichunqiu,Xunzi,Shiji etc. of later stage in ancient times.Therefore,it plays an important part in the History of Chinese language.We here use the Guoyu which the ancient scripture publishing house of Shanghai published in 1998 as the copy for the record.Put it in computer and explore the adjective of Guoyu by a complete and dynamic study.The thesis includes three parts:Foreword part firstly introduced Guoyu basic situation,including introduction of Guoyu and Guoyu's language material value,Guoyu's edition and its version of explanation , its language research status in Guoyu.secondly summarized before people's research in Guoyu.Finally mentioned purpose and some methods about Guoyu's adjective research.Chapter one main discuss Guoyu's adjective class.At first,it's cognizance between monosyliable adjectives and polysyllable adjectives,and analysed them detailly from number and meaning.Guoyu has 452 adjectives, 340 monosyliable adjectives and 112 polysyllable adjectives.then mentioned adjectives's character,station and its low down classify.Then,on basic of it devided Guoyu's adjectives into three class:form adjective,character adjective and colour adjective.Chapter two main analysed Guoyu's adjectives'grammar function.Guoyu's adjectives'main grammar function is predicate and attribute.Adjectives used as predicate are the most.Many adjectives can used as predicate directly.It can be decorated by negative adverb,degree adverb,model auxiliary word,tone adverb,scope adverb,time adverb.Polysyllable adjectives also can be predicate.It can be decorated by negative adverb,tone adverb and time adverb.Adjectives used as attribute,it can decorate other words directly,and it also add ZHI between adjective and other words.Polysyllable adjectives are the same,only its number is less. Adjectives used as subject and object has two situations.The one is that it used as subject and object themselves.The two is it Huoyong as noun.The function of monosyliable adjectives and polysyllable adjectives almost same,only the number is different.Adjectives as adverbial modifier and complement is less.Chapter three discuss about Guoyu's adjective's Huoyong and Jianlei.The problem has been discussing all long.The article main through statistic frequency and analyse meaning dispart Guoyu's adjective into Huoyong and Jianlei.Jianlei's adjective number is 52,most adjective belong to two parts of speech,belong to three...
