As far as the communicative channel is concerned, communication can be classified into verbal communication and nonverbal communication. Loise Damen and other scholars believe that people acquire nonverbal behaviors earlier than verbal behaviors, and are more influenced by nonverbal behaviors. As one focus, nonverbal communication has drawn much concern. However, most of the researchers are primarily working on it from the perspective of culture differences. Is there any other theory conducting nonverbal behavior except cultural differences? Therefore, taking corpus from the work of Mr. Cao Yu Thunderstorm, adopting the pragmatic methods, the writer analyzed the nonverbal communication by the theory of pragmatic context. The analysis demonstrates that pragmatic context theory functions much more successfully and comprehensively in nonverbal communication and it is more scientific and proper to analyze it from this new perspective. Besides, the analysis testifies the immense explanatory power of pragmatics and broadens its application scope.
