Fusion Of Horizons And Game

Beginning with the lingkage between game and fusion of horizons, this paper analyze similarities and dissimilarities between fusion of horizons and Huizinga's concept of the game, Wittgenstein's "language games", explain in-depth characteristics of fusion of horizons and Gadamer's philosophical hermeneutics. Fusion of horizons is core concept of Gadamer's philosophical hermeneutics. The repeated fusion of Horizons has nature of the game. Throughout modern Western philosophy the concept of game has important position. Research of the game by Huizinga is of most prominent.Observing and experiencing the phenomenon of game thoroughly,he can reveal the nature of game itself.His study to mutually relations between game and culture can be said to be more innovative. Fusion of horizons and the late Wittgenstein's "language games" have the main important commonality :Pragmatics rules only in the specific contexts can be found.But Wittgenstein just talk about a variety of language-games with relativity, treat them as a monad.And Gadamer refused to allow the language game in mutual isolation and no intermediary status.This paper firstly shows the etymology interpretation of "Horizon" in Chinese and German and sort out the interpretation and analysis of "Horizon" by Nietzsche,Husserl,Heidegger,Gadamer, etc. in history of philosophy,analysis preliminarily philosophical inner meaning of "Horizon" and "fusion of horizons". Then, in four aspects:unity,dialectic, Okkasionlitat and creativeness ,the paper discuss the characteristic of fusion of horizons like game,namely,something in common between them.And it explains distinct characteristic of fusion of horizons from game in this aspect: opening of fusion of horizons and closing of game.Although Wittgensteinian theory of "language game " have quite many thing in common with fusion of horizons,basic differences between them lie in Wittgensteinian "language game " lack dialectic embodied by fusion of horizons.Gadamer inherit Heidegger's existential analysis of Dasein, interpret fusion of horizons as process of understanding from the finite, historical, open humanics standpoint,and emphasize dialectic relationship of assimilation,mediation,comprehension embodied in the process of fusion of horizons.He insisted on limited ontology, stressed different horzions, different understanding,but these different horizons in endless process of mediation and fusion. Gadamer's philosophical hermeneutics is comprehensive.
