This essay takes the twelve heritage sites that date back to pre-Qin Dynasty as its research subjects. These sites are now located in the central and eastern parts of Inner Mongolia .Chronologically, they can be relegated into the following three major periods:The Neolithic Age, the Browns Age and the Iron Age. The essay presents a thorough and systematic analysis of tomes and sacrifices based on investigation by archaeologist and their excavations, aided by various research methods and techniques in terms of archaeology, natural science and social science. It also gives a summary about the characteristics and changing laws of the natural constitution of the people in those regions in pre-Qin Dynasty. Then, combined with knowledge from other disciplines, it elementarily talks about the causes of such characteristics. It consists of four major chapters:The First Chapter: Introduction. It introduces the geographical environment and climate features, demonstrates the unique importance of this particular area in the field of archaeology. Then it points out the aim, meaning of the essay, the time and space of these subjects, and how to do the research. The Second Chapter: The Research on the gender constitution of the people in Central and Eastern part of Inner Mongolia in pre-Qin Dynasty. On the basis of systematic organization and analysis of the information about those tombs, this chapter sums up the characteristic of gender constitutions according to their ages in a definite period of time. And the general trend is that the rate of the male over the female is on increase with the increase of the age. The increasing rate is particularly high among the adolescents, suggesting the mass deaths of the female in their adolescence. The proportion of men was higher than that of women in all the shree times .The reasons may be: the low productivity at that time, the backward medical treatment from which many of the pregnant women died. Other factors such as the burial, technology, society, convention of burial and economy might also be taken into consideration. The Third Chapter: The Research on the age constitutionFrom the date compiled from the twelve sites, the analysis of the information by means of statistics, and the average life expectancy in different times and in the different tomes on the same time, this chapter shows us that the trend of the age constitution: with the advance of time, the average life expectancy is on the decrease. Generally speaking, the majority of the people in those regions died in their middle age with few reaching old. Apart from the low productivity at that time, the major reason stems from the natural environment. Specifically speaking, the reasons are: (1) the changing of climate has a direct influence on the living conditions. From Neolithic age to browns age to the Iron Age, the natural condition was becoming worse and worse, which was becoming increasingly unfit for human's existence. (2) The change of climate influences the age constitution through influencing the economic forms. Due to the climate and vegetation changes, these regions experienced agriculture-oriented Neolithic age, semi-agriculture and semi-husbandry browns age and finally the husbandry-oriented age, which are the main changes of economic forms. The Forth Chapter:conclusionOn the basis of the summary of characteristics and causes of the natural constitution of the people in those regions at that time, this chapter further summaries the methods and procedures of studying the natural constitution of the people. Being fully aware of the inadequacy of the research in this field, this chapter also brings up some measure and methods for improving the research.
