The relationship of America and Israel is a special case in the history of the international relationship, which directly influences the development and trend of the Arab-Israeli conflicts. After the foundation of Israel, through a mutual selection, America and Israel gradually established the strategic allies relationship. During the Cold War, the US took the policies towards Israel into its consideration against the Soviet Union, meanwhile, the latter took the US as its main power to survive and develop. After the Cold War , the relationship of the two countries went through an adjustment, along with the evolution of the world political and Middle East situation.After the Cold War , the basis of cooperation still existed. To America , it not only took Israel as a axis -country to serve for its global hegemonism, but also a mediator of the Arab-Israeli peace process, to influence and control the regional setups. To Israel, according to its specialties of the national conditions and environment of geography-politics, striving for the political, economic, military support and help from the US was still its most important diplomatic policy.U.S-Israeli relationship is an important part in the American middle east policy. As the dominant part of the two relationships, America took its policy towards Israel with "small adjustment" according to its strategic requirement in different periods. Generally speaking, the two countries maintained their strategic cooperation, however, there were also some disagreements, which displayed much in the Arab-Israeli peace talks that America directed. After the 9·11 attack, in order to fight against the threat of the terrorism, their relationship strengthened. In addition, American Jews also played an important role to promote the relationship of America and Israel after the Cold War.This thesis will give a systematic analysis of the development of the relationship between America and Israel after the Cold War. All of which supply lessons to predict the trend of the development of the relationship. There are four chapters in this thesis. Chapter one gives a review of the relationship between America and Israel during the Cold War. Chapter two gives a systematic analysis of the adjustment of the two countries' policies after the Cold War. Chapter three gives a deep analysis of the factors influencing the development of the relationship of America and Israel. Chapter four summarizes the diplomatic strategies of the two countries.
