As a unique state of human civilization, madness goes with the establishments of human selfhood. Even people created powerful rational cultural but never throw off the influence of madness. Human being judge madness because it is 'otherness' to sense; it exists in our mind but never under our control. As madness is particular, it broadcast different sense of the world and exhibit special meaning, so it attracts a lot of ideologist and litterateur's attention.This article starts from the madness of the history of human civilization to delineate madness as 'otherness', its influence on different stage of human civilization and its meaning as an prototype in original myth, further combine the pathological state to reveal the relationship between spirit and body. Madness exists in human civilization but it acts as 'otherness who challenges the world', becomes a kind of irrational cultural phenomenon.Firstly, this article starts from the view of history, explorers the situation in human civilization of madness and the image of madness have three clear change in literature. Madness image appear as idealism, happiness even as purely 'happy fools' turn to 'feigned madness', finally madness as 'have to mad 'totally lost itself. Further in literatures, madness as a culture phenomenon behaves different types by writers. Base on revealed the mentation of human being by the madness image we can distinct them to four categories: Romantic Madness, Cynicism Madness, Justice Madness and Pathetic Madness. To create such different image, writers almost took the same delineations symbols such as naked body, dirty, violence and balderdash talking. Through this symbol words, we can see under different culture background, different behavior reflected the variation of culture meaning. Generally, in China madness abstract as Beijing Opera, it focus on the exteriority of madness, highly stylized, hence the characters of madness are not as rich as those in western literature. The westerners mold the madness image through the exploration of their hearts, feeling empathy is the main means of presentation, both of which is super tragically spirit.As the heterogeneous of human culture, madness use rebellious spirit to reveal the irrational of human civilization. It unmasks the decoration of Holy Spirits, lets people release themselves by madness to get the real significance of life.
