Research On Some Grammatical And Semantic Problems Of Dui-sentences

Dui-sentence is commonly used both in spoken and written Chinese. As akind of independent sentence pattern, it has some unique grammatical and semanticcharacters. Being affected by the preposition "Dui", the elements of Dui-sentences,especially their predicates, show some characters of selectivity, and the relationshipbetween each element is complicated.In this thesis, I try to make further analysis and explanations about severalgrammatical and semantic problems of Dui-sentences. First of all, I make clear whatproblems of Dui-sentences I will discuss in this thesis and summarize some researcheson Dui-sentences that have been done before by other scholars. Secondly, I discussseveral key problems of Dui-sentences, including the classification of predicate forms,selectivity features of verbs and adjectives in Dui-sentences, positions of Dui-phrases.Thirdly, by comparing Dui-sentences and general SP-sentences, I summarize thefurther features and functions of Dui-sentences. This thesis aims at having a deepunderstanding of the main elements of Dui-sentences, relationship between them andthe real functions of Dui-sentences.
