The development of Chinese experiences a long history.Ancient Chinese is the source of later generation Chinese,it implicates the earliest status of the later generation Chinese. Guanzi is a masterpiece with a far-reaching effect and it is an academic works including all kinds of culture.It records characteristics of culture during the Spring and Autumn time period.Scholars have many statements on Guanzi in various aspects,such as ideological and cultural values,but we rarely read some works or articles giving enough attention to the research on it’s grammar.The type of language which Guanzi reflects is belong to the period of middle term in Pre-Qin.In view of this,it has certain research value on grammar,it is worthy of further research and discussion.This essay studies all sentences in entity from both a quantitative and qualitative perspective, based on the grammar of modern Chinese, sum up and count up the sentence patterns in Guanzi, and make a deep study on these sentences from the aspects of grammar and semantics. We study simple sentence and complex sentence in Guanzi comprehensively, compare similarities and differences, investigate the structure of each sentence pattern, and reveal the evolutionary law of Chinese sentence, provide important pre-Qin corpus and theoretical references in the study of the Chinese grammar history.Verbal phrase subject-predicate sentence is the main part in subject-predicate sentence. The quantity is large, the rate of utilization is high, the form is diverse, language structure is complicated. This thesis from nine aspects to research the characteristics and principles of it.The amount of Parallel complex sentence is the most one in complex sentence, which take about percent of33,and the structure is very intricate, this is the main target to research. It uses narrate-judge complex sentence to express the judgment definitely. This type sentence is discussed from Anyu and Duanyu. It is found that Anyu is complex and Duanyu is simple. Reason-result complex sentence is researched from two parts:from reason to result and from result to reason.
