| This paper bases on the prefaces and postscripts for popular novel in Ming Dynasty, collecting and studying about 141 kinds of the prefaces and postscripts. This thesis discusses the prefaces and postscripts for fiction anthology in Ming Dynasty from the following four aspects. Introduction presents the previous researchers' study on the prefaces and postscripts for fiction anthology and the significance in Ming Dynasty. Chapter one is a whole presentation: the quantity of the writings,format, classification of contents, features, function of spread, etc. Chapter two studies the prefaces and postscripts for popular novel in Ming Dynasty which is fake.Chapter three draws the outline of the development course of the fiction thoughts of the writers in Ming Dynasty, Chapter four focuses on the change of critical mentioned in the prefaces and postscripts for fiction anthology.
