A Study On Poetry Of Trousseau

Poetry of Trousseau is generally recognized as Han Wo's collection of poem. It is flowery in words and it's content is mainly about beautiful women and love affairs. He Ning, Feng Yansi and Han Xizai is considered as the author of this collection by some people. The poems in Poetry of Trousseau had a controversy among the researchers since the Song Dynasty, because they are connected with the women's quarters. However, Poetry of Trousseau was very popular in its time, and had a profound effect on the development of Ci poetry. This dissertation studies Poetry of Trousseau in four aspects: 1. Through analyzing the historical materials and Han Wo's poems, it proves Han Wo is the true author. It also studies the writing process and the purpose of Poetry of Trousseau; 2. Find the reasons why Poetry of Trousseau appeared in late Tang Dynasty; 3. Poetry of Trousseau has a close relationship with Ci poetry, and it is the special product in the transforming period from poetry to Ci poerty; 4. Poetry of Trousseau inherited the advantages of Palace poems and flowery poems in Tang Dynasty. It influnces later poetry and Ci poetry in many ways. The third and forth part is the emphasis of this dissertation. It comments the literary characteristics and the value of Poetry of Trousseau in a new prospect, and is intended to help people know the importance of Poetry of Trousseau in the history of Chinese classical literature.
