Basic tone of Yu Dafu's early novels are thought to be sentimental and grey. The persons in his writings always were indulged in lack-- in lack of esteem , love, affection ,peace ,easily hurt; and after being hurt because of their incapability and recreance ,they could not retaliate. and such these feelings were called"ressentiment"by Max Schelet. My papers has used German phenomenonist Scheler's ressentiment theory to analyse Yu Dafu's early novels , and hopes that , in the ressentiment angle of view , some new aspects would be got. As the deepening of my analysis, I found that , the persons in Yu Dafu's wrings accord with Scheler's ressentiment theory. And the persons' responses and actions to being hurt were also in accord with the definition and analysis of ressentiment by Scheler. My papers has reviewed the forms of the persons in Yu Dafu's early novels , and the causes of the, ressentiment and the attitudes to the tragic fate in his novles. My papers are divided into 3 chapters . Chapter 1 is divided into 4 sections , has analyse the forms of the persons in Yu Dafu's early novels , ie. the ressentiment of country, the ressentiment of affection, the ressentiment of humble people , the ressentiment of family.Chapter 2 is divided into 3sections , and has analysed the causes of ressentiment for Yu Dafu's early novels , first , the existence of the persons : lack ; second, the double nourishing of the persons ' pride and the ressentiment to being hurt .
