On The Ethic Relationship In Rainbow Of D.H.Lawrence

In English history of literature, Lawrence is a destiny erroneous writer, but wins respect from posterity as in diligent pursuit of ideal. His novels take the capitalism industry civilization to the nature destruction, to the human nature distortion and the dissimilation as the main content. He hopes to save the society through harmonious ideal sexual relations. Rainbow is a mature work of Lawrence. It describes love and marriage relations between three generations of Brangwens, through inspecting the human relation with self, society, and nature, and profoundly exposes the evil of capitalism industrial civilization, praising the merit of sexual relation between man and woman which units soul and flesh.The thesis intends to reflect the main thought of Lawrence through discussing the ethic relation in Rainbow of Lawrence, it the novel in the abstract ethics relations concrete application manner with self, between the human and social, the human and the nature relations analyzes. First, it discusses about the three self essential ideas of Lawrence: The natural essence, the social essence and the nature and the social dual essence, the ideal self he pursues is the self maintaining balance between the spontaneous combustibility and the sociality. Next, it mainly analyzes four kinds of relations which are sexual relation, father-daughter relation, mother-daughter relation and teacher-student relation from the relation between human and social system, and social relation of human. Finally, it seeks natural and balanced interpersonal relationship from the relation between human and the natural: On the one hand, the relation between human and nature is harmonious and uniform, we feel the rhythm of life in the personification nature; on the other hand, the relation between human and nature is opposing and struggling and human industrial activities destroy the harmony of nature.
