Contrast to the middle school student, college student' study need more self-determination, and it come out to be more professional and occupational direction .it is no longer a basic education phase, it present more pertinence on some major profession. as to the student, At a certain extent, the college students' study is a occupation learning, apparently it has a occupational color. It is a great task for the student to learn well and master the skill on his major profession, The study on the profession of student has a great importance effect to the students' development; as to the society actuality, the society have high request on the student' professional study, and people are apt to employ the students whose profession is right to the job, and the student that do well on profession have more chance to be employ. All that means the profession study means great deal to the student, the development on profession will do a great influence on student' development, especially the developing of career, the level of professional adaptability of the student has a directed ant determinant infection on the profession study. This study is intent to compile a professional adaptability scale, using mis scale do research on college students' profession study and find out the actuality and development rule on the professional adaptability. These results will provide some theoretic bases for mental health education and occupational education of college students.Based on an open-ended questionnaire, talking face in face with some students and literature pertinent, the study analyzes the cognition, motivation and behavior characteristics of college students in their profession studying. According to relevant scales at home and abroad and experts' suggestions, we compile the professional adaptability scale of college students. What's more, the characteristics of professional adaptability of college students were investigated with this scale.The results of the study show that: (1) The self-designed scale of professional adaptability of college students is of high reliability and fair validity. According to the results of factor analysis, four major sub-scales are found in professional adaptability scale of college students: profession promises, profession study motivity, profession study behavior, and profession self-efficiency, there are 2-4 factors belong to every sub-scale.(2)The total characteristic of the professional adaptability is come present to be a positive direction. The profession adaptability level of each sub-scale from highest to lowest ranges as follows: profession promises, profession study motivity, and profession self-efficiency, profession study behavior。(3)The multiple analyze result show that, significant difference in grades genders and professions has been found; there were no significant difference between urban and rural students, and no significant interactions has been found in all factor。(4) The grades difference analysis shows that: mere were significant difference in grade on all sub-scale. Further analyze during the grates show that: the are significant difference between every two grates on all scales, and all show the same direction: the freshman show a best adaptability on their profession, the sophomore show a lowest level on professional adaptability, the junior student' professional adaptability level is lower than the freshman and higher than the sophomore.(5) The professions difference analysis shows that: there were significant difference in professions on all sub-scale. It show that: The profession promises scale level of each professions students from highest to lowest ranges as follows: art,medical course,agriculture,science,literature,engineering course; The profession study motivity scale level of each professions students from highest to lowest ranges as follows: agriculture,art,medical course,science,literature,engineering course; The profession study behavior scale level of each professions students from highest to lowest ranges as follows: arts agriculture,medical course,science,literature,engineering course; The profession self-efficiency scale level of each professions students from highest to lowest ranges as follows: art,agriculture,science,medical course,literatures engineering course.(6) There were significant difference in gender has been found in general professional adaptability. It show that there were significant difference in gender on profession promises scale, however no significant difference has been found on profession study motivity, profession study behavior, and profession self-efficiency scales.
