In China peasant has more than 80% of total population. Its political and economic position in the whole nation does not allow of neglecting. Mao Zedong said who won peasants, who were the winner. Therefore, whether the peasant problem in China can be understood and resolved with accuracy or not became the key problem of the success of Chinese revolution. With gradually understanding the Marxist theories and the actual circumstance of China deeply, the Communist Party of China during the period of Great Revolution knew the importance of peasant in the process of Chinese revolution. Thus it started to lead the revolution sport of anti-imperialistic and anti-feudalism doctrine and organized peasant associations. The aim of this thesis lies in analyzing and studying each aspect of peasant association under the leadership of the Communist Party of China.First, according to the foundation of the Communist Party of China ,the formation the cooperation between Kuomintang and the Communist Party of China and the Northern Expedition War, the peasant association during the period of Great Revolution is divided into three stages: the first is embryonic stage in the front and back of the foundation of the CPC party(1921-1923);the second is the stage of development after the formation of the cooperation between Kuomintang and CPC(1924.1-1926.9);the last is the stage of high tide after the beginning of the Northern Expedition War. The thesis also concretely discusses the development condition of the peasant association in these three stages. Secondly, on the foundation of discussing the peasant association in the last years of Manchu Dynasty and the early years of Republic, the thesis comparatively studies the differences in the guiding theories, leaders, and properties and so on between two kinds of peasant association. From the analysis above, we know that peasant association under the leadership of the Communist Party of China and that in the last years of Manchu Dynast and the early years of Republic are absolutely different. The third chapter generalizes and summaries the characteristics of peasant association in this period. It had four characteristics: the first is the peasant association had autonomy property. ;the second is the organizations of the peasant association became tightly and perfect gradually; the third is that in the process of leading peasants to carry on various conflict, the peasant association became basic political power of villages; the fourth is that the peasant association developed along with the development of the situation of Chinese revolution Another important problem of this thesis is the function of peasant association in Great Revolution. Peasant association during the period of Great Revolution not only mobilized and organized peasants to attend the anti-imperialistic and anti-feudalism doctrine, as a result of faltering the political rule foundation of the feudalism influence and imperialism within village and initially carrying out the whole powers to return peasant association, but also made them change the idea to resist oppression and fight for their rights by their self.
