In This dissertation works over the historical consciousness of Moyan. From Moyan's point of view, main body of history is hero and the form of history is legend. A large number of his novels are about history with heroes acting in a legend. Moyan's opinion about hero has an obvious characteristic of uniqueness: Hero is a life manner—they are brave enough to scorn established rule of law and break loose the chains binding their hands and feet; hero is a character—they are adventurous, dare to love or hate, living in a powerful an unconstrained life style, and detained by nothing; hero is also a kind of temperament—they are sanguineous, pugnacious, martial and sturdy, spry and energetic. These are completely different from the utilitarian viewpoint of Liang Qichao, Helin, Carlyle, etc., but are close to the heroic view of Si Maqian, Emerson, etc. Moyan is used to give voice to peasant. He understands deeply about the flesh and blood relationship between brigandage and peasant, which expressed his admiration and praises to peasant and hero, and changed the negative image of brigandage in the present literary age. Most characters in Moyan's writing have a fantastic experience, like Yu Zhan'ao, Si Maku, Sunbing, and so on. The heroism in Moyan's novels has given an aesthetic impact to the new era literary world.One of the key characteristics of the new era literature is the increase of tragedy factor. Moyan is used to reflect cothurn of the history by portray a tragic fate of peasant in history activities. His novel leads readers to enjoy one and another solemn and stirring pantomime, and both hero and non-hero of the novel are roles of tragedy. In his novel Flush Breasts and Fat Buttocks, Moyan exposed a lot of tribulation and death, like suffering caused by procreation, starvation, war, and so on. All these revealed the tragic conflict between the survival desire of human beings and cruel history circumstance. When showing the tragedy of history, Fatigue of Life and Death mainly displayed the Thespian collision between basic pursuance of human and absurd history course: First, the tragic conflict between people's desire for independence and freedom and the ridiculous history course uncovered the tragic essence of history. Second, Moyan also created seriously twisted tragic images in a special history time. When analyzing Luxun's works A Madman's Diary, Jameson found that"the Allegory of a People"in this story should have a profound historical connotation. The idea"Retrogression of Species"raised by Moyan in 1980s has a rich historical connotation: metaphorized the historical causation for vulnerability of China during the latest hundreds of years."Retrogression of Species"incarnated the basic history conception of Moyan and reflected his profound thought on history. Moyan is not the first person raised"Retrogression of Species", but, as a Chinese author, is the one who made the greatest effort to express this idea in his literature works concentrically and completely. Moyan visually laid out the subject"Retrogression of Species"in his works, and this subject is also the key to read and understand his novels. Moyan thinks about the way for our nation by representing the theme"Retrogression of Species".
