This thesis elaborates the culture of daily costume and accessories in Shang Dynasty and some other related problems, based on the consultation of previous research achievements and academic documents, including a large number of archaeological resources."The Culture of Daily Costume and Accessories in Shang Dynasty"is composed of five chapters: Chapter 1 Preface, Chapter 2 General introduction to daily costume and accessories in Shang Dynasty, Chapter 3 Class distinctions reflected in the culture of daily costume and accessories in Shang Dynasty, Chapter 4 Regional diversities in the culture of daily costume and accessories in Shang Dynasty, Chapter 5 Conclusion.The preface expounds in detail the aim of this thesis, the researching methodology and the main research findings of the predecessors in this field. Chapter 1 lays the groundwork for further study of the culture of daily costume and accessories in Shang Dynasty in the following chapters.Chapter 2 generalizes the daily costume and accessories in Shang Dynasty, according to historical documents, oracles, and archaeological data.On the basis of an overall recognition of the daily costume and accessories in Shang Dynasty, Chapter 3 analyses the characteristics of the excavated jade, stone, pottery and bronze portraits from the Shang tombs, and illustrates the great distinctions of costume and accessories worn by Shang people of different classes, especially between nobles and multitude. In Chapter 4, through the illustration of archeological proof excavated from the Shang tombs of northern and southern areas, it is demonstrated that the regional diversities do exist in the culture of daily costume and accessories in Shang Dynasty, and their cultural and environmental causes.After comprehensive analysis and detailed statement, Chapter 5 gets the conclusion: the rich and colorful culture of daily costume and accessories in Shang Dynasty owns its unique charm; a mature and perfect system of costumes has already been formed, and there are the costumes for head, body and feet, in forms of silk, leather, cotton, etc.; the accessories for hair, ears, neck, wrist and waist all have distinguishing features, and the hair accessories have drawn more attention; there are class distinctions and regional diversities in the culture of daily costume and accessories in Shang Dynasty.
