| This thesis surveyed the status quo of the music majors' creative capacity in conservatories of higher education.With references from the nationwide survey of the public's scientific competence and the survey of the creative capacity of university students,this thesis demonstrates the correlation between artistic practice and the development of music majors' creativity.Meanwhile,the thesis attaches much importance to the above-mentioned conclusion drawn from the desired effects we have achieved in our own conservatory.Artistic practices can satisfy the students' desire for knowledge.It also provides a platform for them to exhibit their talents and to accumulate experiences,which stimulates and promotes their creativity. Through these activities,students have their objective knowledge enriched, their disciplinary awareness developed and they also advance their scientific research methods and better their difference-seeking thinking habits, thus their competence and creative ability are promoted.The thesis covers the following three sections:Chapter One Artistic Practice and Students' Creativity of in Conservatories This chapter mainly concerns about the conceptions and their representative forms,and it also gives an analysis of the state of the art of the artistic practices.Chapter Two The Correlation between Artistic Practice and Development of Creativity This chapter analyzes some ten aspects regarding the correlations,such as stimulating interest,invoking imagination,cultivating creative thinking,etc.Chapter Three The Search for Ways to Develop Students' Creativity through Artistic Practices.This chapter demonstrates the actual effects we have achieved in our research and activities carried out in our conservatory as a case in point.We mainly focus on the exploration of various artistic activities to promote students' creative capacity.The thesis concludes that artistic practices play an important role in cultivating creative talents.
