Chinese characters make up of a symbol system for recordingwritten Chinese, composed of pronunciation, shape and meaning. In the long historical evolvement, Chinese characters weresubject to three transformations(Li-change, Kai-change andchape-simplify)from initial ancient glyph, these changes ofChinese characters were directly driven by the motivation ofconvinence for writing. Nowadays language recording enters intoelectronic era and the information input by keyboard induces abig contradiction existing between the limited keys on keyboardof computer and the enormous quantity of Chinesecharacters. Solving the contradiction requires coding of Chinesecharacers. Coding of characters requests the characters have twofeatures, namely linearity and order, like Latin. However theChinese characters are 2D planar graph, it is necessary todecompose the comepleted Chinese charaters into elements—partsfor satisfing the needs of coding. Parts are units with featuresof relative independency, being able to decompose andreversibility of decomposing-composing, existing in the middlelayer between strokes and completed characters.Parts are classed into basic parts and non-basic parts according as their layer. Basic parts have two sub-classes, one group arecompleted parts with pronunciation, shape and meaning and anotherare uncompleted parts with only shape, without certainpronunciation and meaning. Recently, study of parts mainly focuson definition, classify, decomposing, naming and criterion ofparts. Insufficient attention pays on pronunciation and meaningof parts. However pronunciation of parts is tightly related tokeyboard input (refer to shape code and shape-prounciationcode)and literacy teaching in modern education technology. This indicates the essence of integer of pronunciation, shape andmeaning of Chinese characters. Pronouncing expression of parts isestablished on the academic base of cognize psychology, philologyand character study. In this article, we give a very newconcept—pronouncing parts, and design an attempted scheme forpronouncing parts. Our goal isappealing to more researchers tolearn the study and solve pronouncing parts problem. This studyhas immerce sence for deeply knowing the modern Chinese charactersand its culture, solving the difficulty of input coding andimproving the modernliteracy teaching.
