The Chinese Art Industry at the turn of the 21st——Century marks a milestone inthe development history of Chinese Art.Since the 1990's, China has entered a new era in the Socialist Market Economysystem. As this system gradually matures, the Chinese Art Industry, such as theRecording, Filmmaking & Artwork Industry also rapidly develops and expands. The competition within the Art Industry becomes more severe in China after itbecomes the member of WTO.While entrepreneurs in the Art Industry face toughchallenges, they also have many valuable opportunities. Our production method, management concept and operating capital are inferior compared to Art Industry indeveloped countries.Especially on the aspect of marketing, while developed countrieshave accumulated more for more than a hundred years of experience, our markets haveonly developed for around 10 years-all these we need to modestly accept and learn.Ourstrength, however, lies in that we have rich art resources, cheap labour and a hugeconsumer market. In order to create a prosperous future, we should take advantage ofthese strengths, grab the opportunities and face the challenges.By analysing the development path, industry structure, policy and status, this thesistries to bring its reader a whole picture on the development of the Chinese Art Industry atthe turn of the Century. And hopefully by doing this, it can inspire others to researchfurther into the Chinese Art Industry.
