Responsibility is an important personality trait. It is made up of responsibility cognition, reponsibility feeling and reponsibility behavior. On the basis of former researches and conclusions of open-end questionnaire survey, the questionnaire of college students' responsibility was formed. With the item analysis, the exploratory factor analysis, reliability and validity test, and the confirmatory factor analysis, the model turned out to be legitimate.Using the college students' responsibility questionnaire and the achievement motive questionnaire, the study explored the developmental characters of college students' responsibility, the relationship between responsibility and achievement motive. Also the study, from the aspect of college students themselves, analyzed the importance of influence factors of responsibility.The conclusions are as following: (1)The college students'responsibility questionnaire has good reliability and validity. It consists of general responsibility (responsibility cognition, responsibility feeling and responsibility behavior) and concrete responsibility (self responsibility, family responsibility, social responsibility and collective responsibility). (2)The responsibility of college students exists difference in sex, grade, city or countryside origin students, only child, student leader and party member.(3)It exists high correlation between the responsibility and individualistic-oriented achievement motive(IOAM). But the correlation between responsibility and social-oriented achievement motive(SOAM) is low. With the regression analysis, it shows that responsibility can predict the IOAM well. And self responsibility is an effective variable to predict the IOAM. (4)College students think autognosis is the most important factor that influences the development of responsibility. And then it is the influence of family, the life experience, the teachers' education, the accompaniers' influence, the infection of school and the atmosphere of society.
