The family responsibility is a kind of personality psychology quality which formed from theindividual in the family environment interaction among the family activities as its family members underthe responsibilities. It contents the cognitive, and emotional and behavior reflect of the responsibility.The purposes of this dissertation were to investigate the contents of family responsibility of the collegestudents, as well as to study the antecedents and consequences of family responsibility content. For thesepurposes, some standard research methods, such as literature review, interview and survey were used in theresearch. In addition, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, canonical correlationanalysis and hierarchical regression analysis were also applied for data analysis. There are594collegestudents were surveyed. The main conclusions are as the following:First, the content of the family responsibility consisted of three factors for college students in China,which include responsibility cognitive, responsibility emotion, and responsibility plan. The reliability andvalidity of family responsibility content questionnaire were highly enough.Second, discussion about the demographical variables effects on the content of the familyresponsibility. The demographical variables included sex, native towns, parental responsibilityrequirements, year, family ranking, parents' marital relationship, monthly family income, family structure,and whether as student leaders or not. It was found that demographical variables had some significanteffects on the content of the family responsibility.Third, parents' rearing style can forecast their families responsible of college students. Across thestudy, which on the impact of the parenting style to their families responsible of college students. Inaddition,parental warmth has a significant positive impact on college students' family responsibility;parental rejection has a significant negative impact on college students' family responsibility.Last, recommendations on the contemporary college students training and education of the familyresponsibility. Current limitations and future research orientation were also discussed at the end of thedissertation.
