Women entering temple concerned the social custom and the localorder, so the government of Qing always prohibited it. However, becauseeach period is confronted with different situation, the beginning andcontent of the prohibition had difference as well. Although thegovernment of Qing always repeated the prohibition of women enteringthe temple, and the scholar-bureaucrat criticized it fiercely, thephenomenon had never disappeared, which attracted my greatattention. The intention of this paper is to find the reason why thephenomenon of women entering temple can not be prohibited, bydefinitely. The scope of the prohibition and combing thepublication, and enforcement of he prohibition and the people, andscholar-bureaucrat reflection to it. Shun zhi and Kang xi periodsconsidered the phenomenon from the custom side, the government of Yongzheng and Qing long tended to control the local order, but the law afterJia qing period in Qing dynasty was to guard against the massestogethering. However, as far the women concerned, entering temple metthe need of social psychological, realistic effect, communicate andpleasure, this is the reason why the women entered the temple in Qingdynasty and why the government could not prohibit it...
