landscape oil-painting and Chinese traditional landscape Painting hold an important status in painting field. As two different carriers of western and Chinese cultural tastes, the two artistic forms have been developing in the long history. Although the subjects both of them adopted in their paintings are the same—mainly the natural landscapes, in the painting progress different aesthetic theories, different creation techniques, and different visual perspectives are adopted in western landscape oil-painting and Chinese traditional landscape Painting so as to have formed the two different unique styles, aesthetic sentiments, and complete systems of theories.There is great difference between Chinese and Western painting theories, which is owing to different philosophy and aesthetic systems. The Chinese traditional philosophy that"humanity is harmonious with nature"which makes the Chinese paintings focuses on expressing the painters'subjective spirits, the inside instead of the outside and emotion hands over to melt. Chinese traditional poetry and calligraphy are regarded as the essential parts of the art creation, and that the harmony between emptiness and tangibility on the canvass, and the vividness of the art, are pursued. It is decided by western traditional philosophy that"Hunan conflicts with nature"that western painting upholds magnificence. The appearance of object is emphasized. Focus perspective is adopted for a stereophonic description in an effort to truly represent the objective world.Based on the research of ideology basis and esthetics principle which the landscape oil-painting and Chinese traditional landscape painting rely on in their development, this paper compares the two from perspectives of the origin and development of the paintings, their mould characteristics, expressing language, and the feature of color expression to analyze the interpenetration and discrepancy between the two artistic forms. Meanwhile, during the comparison and analysis of the paintings works, the paper carries on the research on the great achievements of painters so as to illustrate the significance of the comparison research.Through the comparsion between the western landscape oil-painting and the Chinese traditional landscape painting, the paper tries to probe into the nationalization of painting creation. Nationalization must be the developing tendency of chinese oil-painting. The expression language of Chinese oil-painting should have the Chinese cultural spirits, adjust to the Chinese cultural taste and appreciation, and incarnate the unique national cultural taste.
