The music culture in Chinese character is a kind of study of the Chinesecharacter. Since the ancient time, music, as an important part of human life, like otherform of culture, has been embodied in every part of human activity and can bereflected in the long process of the forming of Chinese character. Focusing on therelation between Chinese character and the music, it explores the valuable history ofmusic from the perspective of cultural function of Chinese character. The paper aims to expose the historical implication of music from the character'sorigins on the basis of the analysis of forms of several Chinese characters which aresystematically categorized. People in old times often offered sacrifices to gods in thepolitical or religious activities, which was always accompanied by music. That is tosay, necromancy and art were interwoven with each other at that time, for it isbelieved that the gods like human beings also have feelings. In this sense, it is notexaggerated to say that the wizards created philosophy, astronomy, geography, literature as well as music and dancing. By analyzing the form of the character'wu(舞)' and consulting different documents about original history of dancing andmusic, the writer concluded that necromancy is Chinese original culture and is alsothe source of the culture of music. As is recorded in the documents, in old times 'gu瞽' means the blind person who was a musical master who had something to do willthe later rap performer. Therefore, the ancient music can be said to be developed fromthe wizard to the blind and then to the rap performer; the character 'lin伶' was theso-called early musical master who also was the same as the actor today. So thedevelopment of the ancient music is the development from the wizard to the operaactor and then to the actor today. Both the character 'you优' and 'chang倡' refer tomusic and dance, which is confused later with the opera actor. So the ancient music isoriginated from the wizard to the actor today. Confucian scholars儒refer to those whoare accomplished in the Classic Confucian texts in which the most important one ismusic. Confucian scholars also have some connections with musical officials andwizards. The development from the wizard to the Confucian scholar also reflected thatof the ancient music.
