Nowadays, the stress of college students is the main direction of the work in college mental health education and college mental crisis intervention. The research used self-made questionnaire and used SPSS13.0 and LISREL8.7 to analyze students'stress reaction structure, general characteristics and types, which will fulfill the stress theory and practice of college students. This study's main conclusions were as follows:1. The self-compiled Stress Reaction Questionnaire was composed by 4 factors, 14 items. Its reliability and validity were good.2.College students'stress reaction included learning-ability declining, somatic discomfort, negative mood and suicide tendency. There were 30.1% college students who had stress reaction to some extent, 38.5% showed the learning-ability declining reaction, 32.2% showed the somatic discomfort reaction such as fatigue and impotence, 27.8% were bothered by the negative mood more or less, nearly 4% students thought that life was meaningless or had a suicide idea once, about 1.1% students'stress reactions were severe.3. There was a significant difference between male and female in somatic discomfort and suicide tendency, the former was higher than the latter. The difference between science/engineering and literature/history students was not significant, as well as the difference between the urban and the rural. The no-single-child had more severe negative mood than the single child, their difference was significant. The senior's scores in learning-ability declining, somatic discomfort and total reaction were significantly lower than the other three grades. On the negative mood factor, the senior were lower than the freshmen and the junior, but not different from the sophomore. There was no significant difference on other factors. The normal college students were significantly higher than the key university's, the others showed no significant difference. 4. The stress reaction of college students could be classified into 4 types, including lower reaction, learning ability declining—somatic discomfort, learning ability declining—somatic discomfort—negative mood and high reaction. About 67.96% students existed stress reaction in different degree.
