Great changes have taken place in the first half 20 century, when the modern Chinese music education and enlightening began. The development of the music curriculum strongly reflects the development of modern music education development in China, therefore, the research on the preliminary classes in the Chinese music education in the schools should not only focus on the class development itself, but also provide historic and theory evidence for the better research on the history of music education history and the development of modern music curriculum. The preliminary music development period began at the end of Qing dynasty. The regulations issued by the education department and the established curriculum standards failed to pay attention to the importance of music education, which was only consider as an curriculum. And the curriculum mainly focused on school songs as well as the music books. And the aesthetics ideology began to influence music education from 4 may, 1919. The education department published the first significant music curriculum standard, and officially included music as one of the requirements classes. After several reforms in 1929, 1932 and 1936, the music curriculum standardized and systemized in the middle of 1930s. At the same time, the music teachers and book compilation also greatly improved. During in anti-Japanese period in the 2nd world war, the music education in the Kuomintang controlled area did not stand still, instead, it received unprecedented attention for its propaganda functions. And the music curriculum, became more and more reasonable and scientific after being modified and improved in 1940, 1941 and 1948. And the development of music also result in the enlargement of the teacher group and the more strict music curriculum standard system. Before the foundation of people's republic of China, a systematic music curriculum standard system had been established. This article selected and complied the comparatively detailed documents of the establishment and development of the modern music curriculum through the research, and provide detailed theory materials for the comprehensive research on the history of Chinese music education, as well as the reference and comparison materials for the development of contemporary music curriculum reform.
