Guqin is one of Chinese most ancient plucked musical instruments. Since Spring and Autumn period, it had become the popular instruments among the literati. Its culture colorful connotation combined by artifacts of Guqin,music scores of Guqin,song of Guqin,singing of Guqin, legal system of Guqin, person of Guqin,factions of Guqin,theory of Guqin,truth of Guqin etc had already exceeded the value for the instrument of its own. Therefore, it already became as a sacred apparatus. Those recordation in the historical documents for Guqin, such as《Tai Yin Da Quan Ji》《Tai Gu Yi Yin》《Qin Yuan Xu Zhi》and《Qin Shu Da Quan》, as well as the myths and legends, such as"Fu Xi makes a Qin", "Shen Nong makes a Qin" and"makes a five-strings Qin in order to play 'nanfeng'", are not only witnessed the history but also exhibit the architecture of producing this musical instrument from the Ancient-archaic technics.Influenced by the traditional social culture during 20 century, a big amount handed down Guqin partly prevented the production scale development of the new stringed musical instrument. During the Culture revolution time, lots of handed down Guqin had been damaged, only left very few Guqin. After 1980s, especially in 2003, when Gupin has became the "Masterpieces of OralandI-ntangible Heritage of Humanity" granted by UNESCO, Guqin finally met the new period of development. There were more and more learners and the need for Guqin increased a lot. The architecture had been renewed and some artisans, workshops and instruments factories began to produce the new string musical instrument.In Kao county at Henan province, named as "The family of paulownia", there are existing a passel of family workshops, who are making profit by handed down of their own techniques from the family. The production of Guqin is one of their features. Their skills of producing the instruments are not only withheld the traditional distillation, but also put in the producing procedure some modern production achievements. Their effort show to us Guqin's continuing life during the modern society. Among the workshops, "Xufulin producing instrument workshop" in Xuchang village is a little bit famous. The arts and crafts of this workshop is more traditional compared with other workshops. This is also the reason that why this article focus on "Xufulin producing instrument workshop" to be the research object. This article amylases and describes the production skills, Operating Mechanism and the difference between old skills and archaic techniques. The article tries to expose the contemporary and historical comparison research for producing Guqin in the history changes, and shows the real architecture of Guqin production. Hopefully this article could do a good value to folk music localization research by standing as the point of Instruments Research in the Folk Musical Study.
