Relation in space is the basic relation by which human being cognize the outside objective world, and many categories in language built and developed based on this relation. The Chinese expression of spatial relations achieved primarily through the localizers, so the position of the word has always been the focus of scholars. Localizers in Modern Chinese studies are more systematic and mature, research methods and perspectives are diverse; ancient Chinese study of localizers has achieved not small achievements, but less than the depth and breadth of modern Chinese; and the Study of Early Modern Chinese of localizers is the most fragmented, weak, and it has not developed a system and method of their own.Er'nv Yingxiong Zhuan (The Tale of Heroes and Heroines) a chapter back to the body of vernacular fiction, written by WenKang who lived in Beijing in mid-19th century, whose language reflects the spoken language in Beijing of late 19th century features, is the source of modern Beijing dialect. The language of Er'nv Yingxiong Zhuan can spy on Dream of Red Mansions's language, hitting a contemporary Beijing dialect, so the study of the book is important to study the development of Early Modern Chinese, and the corpus has a high value. This paper studies 110 localizers, (including the 20 localizers and 90 composite localizers) and locative phrases in the novel. We will make a comprehensive and detailed description of its usage, in-depth analysis of the semantic category, grammatical function and the characteristics and scope of the reference component. Through the synchronic and diachronic study, we expect to give a concise description of the usage of localizers in Early Modern Chinese. In addition to full text of "Introduction" and "Conclusion", the paper is divided into five parts. The preface part describes the significance of this research project, outlining the research and the problems to solve, and describes the main research methods. The first chapter sets out the corpus of Er'nv Yingxiong Zhuan, and their language summary of research results; and then classify the word problems from the start position, outlined the results during the term of each situation and concludes the usage of localizers in the writing. The second chapter purely describes the semantic features of localizers to conduct a comprehensive study, and deeply analyses the accompanying elements bearing reference to the characteristics of the former word, and outlines the process of word meanings. The third chapter has researched the syntactical function of localizers and composite localizers. A separate study for the localizers to be sentence elements is conducted:subject, object, predicate, adverbial, prepositional phrase, and locative phrase. The fourth chapter has examined the composite localizers, mainly form a comprehensive semantic analysis about derived localizers and compound localizers, and make a statistical analysis on grammatical function. The fifth chapter is about diachronic examination of semantic classification, syntax and distribution.Based on the above analysis, conclusion is drawn:the development of localizers is uneven, semantic projection develops from the space domain to the range of domain, time domain, the order of the domain, etc. On syntax, composite localizers enjoy more freed than localizers but both after the component is attached to the reference to the syntax for the most basic functions.
