There has been the history of more than twenty years since the task-based approach rose in the 1980s. Task-based approach is the continuance and development of communicative approach. Chinese educational department definitely put forward task-based approach in 2001. Taking one with another, the most present civil research on it focuses on English education. Moreover, the theoretical research on it is more about the steps introduction of carrying out and analysis of advantages. The research on educational practice of it under Chinese national condition is relatively few. So, the thesis is to provide some cases for the teaching reform of college Japanese major, particularly for its oral teaching, through researching the advantages and disadvantages of task-based approach when it is used in oral teaching of college Japanese major.The thesis can be divided into five parts:The first part presents the background and the significance of this thesis as well as the ways of research.The second part states the fundamental conceptions of task-based approach, including its definition,types and inscapes of tasks,the detailed steps of carrying out.The third part sets forth the advantages of task-based approach when using it in oral teaching of college Japanese major through some practical cases.The forth part analyzes the disadvantages of it , combining the teaching actuality and characteristics of Japanese major and students majoring in it.The fifth part is the summery of the whole thesis. Task-based approach is a students-centered teaching method . It is influential to our foreign language teaching and brings active effects to enhancement and improvement of Chinese foreign language teaching. In the same time, we should realize that it isn't perfect. There are many characteristics and rules of college Japanese major's oral teaching. Teacher should select and use different teaching methods flexibly aiming at different teaching objects and contents, to make the class most optimized.
