Inspiration Of Shaping Moral Personality From Gentlemen's Philosophy Of Confucius

"How can a human being become a human being"? This is not only a question about theory, but also about practice. On the moral studies, It means constantly asking about how to shape moral personality. At the present time, we have been forced to reconsider the question of how to shape our moral personality to fit the development of times by the situation that losing of moral value, short of moral sensibility, passiveness of moral behavior, disjointing of moral cognizing with moral practice and the downtrend of moral level in society .The question of shaping one's moral personality has been discussed and been sought for by thinkers all through the ages, and it has became an important subject promoting the process of Chinese modernization. Different time requires different moral personality, the formation of moral personality is directly related to social development, socialist harmonious society inevitably requires an accordingly moral personality , ideal moral personality is conducive to social harmony.Humanity is universal, shaping modern moral personality is not only should proceed from the current society , but also should absorb the essence from the traditional moral thinking on the humanity and moral personality aspects . Gentleman's philosophy is a part of Chinese traditional thinking on moral education, is a concrete embodiment of Chinese ancient ideal personality, It has been accumulated in national consciousness and national action regulation, is a part of national mentality and national character. Confucius is the founder of gentleman personality , his thinking not only has deeply and continually effect in the ancient country but also has a close relationship of process of Chinese modernization. This paper is starting from gentlemen's philosophy of Confucius, retrospective it's traditional inheritance, then explore it's creative value , and connect with the current social situation and the spirit of moral education dilemma closely, analyze the useful ideas about shaping modern moral personality from "The Analects of Confucius", and proposed the goal and specific ways about shaping subjective moral personality as the ideal moral personality.
