With the development of technology, this world has become a global village. International Business English is the basic communication tool used by people of different nationalities to perform effective business activities. A large quantity of translated texts about different business activities are constantly emerging. How to assess the quality of these translated texts becomes an unavoidable issue, which has been discussed by scholars from various perspectives for a long time. As these translated texts vary considerably in quality the emerging question is whether the translation is of good quality or not. This simple question is the key point in translation criticism. It is also a rather complicated issue that is closely related to the crucial points of all translation theories, for example the relationship between the source and the target text, the features of the text and how they are transformed into the target language, and the linguistic analysis and social judgment in translation evaluation and so on.With the deepening of globalization of the economy in modern society, international business intercourse has become a frequent activity in daily life. English, as the communicating tool, is involved in many different commercial activities, such as technology transfer, foreign trade and international finance. In these cases, English becomes an indispensable linguistic communication tool in the economic and commercial fields and becomes defined as business English. In the transnational commercial activities, business English has encountered translation conflict between the supplied and demanded. How to evaluate business English translation under commercial circumstances becomes a crucial issue. Different approaches to TQA supply important principles. The most influential model of TQA is J. House's model. Since business English translation is a human action, it should have a purpose. This purpose is described in academic terms as the Skopos. It should guide the realization of all steps of translation. Meanwhile on the basis of Skopos, theory translation quality assessment criteria of International Business English (IBE hereafter) will be proposed in this thesis. This thesis consists of six parts as a whole. Chapter One, as a brief introduction of the thesis, highlights the theoretical background and the purpose of the study. Chapter Two is contributed to clarifying the concept of TQA and reviewing preceding literature regarding TQA. Chapter Three gives an account of Skopos theory in details. Chapter Four analyzes translation quality of IBE and its general characteristics of IBE. Since various text types of IBE more or less have their own special features, and it mainly discusses about features of IBE in general so as to discuss criteria of IBE translation at a more applicable level. Chapter Five expounds its Skopos approach to IBE transition assessment. The last part of the thesis concludes the findings and the shortcomings of this thesis.
