Shyness is a psychological feature which widely exists but attracts little attention. Many shy individuals have been affected by this feature in varying degrees in many aspects of their daily lives. So it is important to get to know the studying situation of college students, pay attention to the difficulties they face in life and study and help them better adapt themselves to the college life in order to get balanced physical and mental development.Based on the analysis of the concept of inclination of shyness and internet addiction and of the present researching condition of the relationship between them, this research revises the Cheek & Buss Scale of shyness, analyses the popularity of shyness and internet addiction tendency in college students and the effect of the demographic variables on the inclination of shyness and internet addiction tendency and the relationship between the shyness of college students, social support and internet addiction tendency, and explores the intermediary function of social support bridging the inclination of shyness with the inclination of internet addiction by using the statistical approaches of otherness inspection, relativity analysis and path analysis.The study obtained conclusions as follows:Firstly, multiple differences in demographic variables such as gender, hometown and so on, have been found on shyness and Network Addiction tendency.Secondly, there exists statistically significant correlation among shyness and different dimensions of social support; Shyness have remarkable effect on different dimensions of social support; There were remarkable correlation between dimensions of social support and network addiction tendency. The different dimensions of the social support have significant effect on different dimensions of Network Addiction tendency.Thirdly, social support was the modulator between shyness and network addiction tendency; Shyness influenced the network addiction tendency indirectly by social support.
