Social Education Of Sichuan In The Stage Of Anti-Japanese War

Before the political unification of Sichuan Province, the social education in Sichuan was placed in stagnation because of being influenced by warlord conflict. After the political unification of Sichuan Province, especially after the Anti-Japanese War, Sichuan processed a series of favorable conditions for developing a large-scale social education. Based on these favorable conditions, the social education in Sichuan Province made a rapid progress. At the later period of Anti-Japanese war, the social education in Sichuan Province was slowed down due to the lack of funds.The government of Sichuan Province played an important role in developing social education in Sichuan Province. The government made some efforts in educational administration, teachers training and educational budget and achieved good results.Social education involved a lot of government agencies and can be classified into social educational government agencies and school educational government agencies in terms of educational mode. The contents of social education were extensive and touched different social aspects. But in this special period, the social education was developed for Anti-Japanese war and other social needs, therefore the social education in Sichuan Province showed its own features because it was developed in this special period. During the period of Anti-Japanese war, the social education made some progress by a lot of efforts. The social education provided educational chances for Sichuan citizens, played a role in changing citizens' bad habits and made citizens escaped from the illiteracy. The main contribution of social education in Sichuan lied in making the citizens support the Anti-Japanese War and devote themselves to it, which contributed much to the victory of the Anti-Japanese War. On the whole, because of lacking in funds, talents and local government's enough attention, and due to some problems of social education itself, the social education in Sichuan Province didn't achieve the expected effect.
