The Use Of Contemporary Print-making Thinking In Modern Graphic Design

The print is different from the dignified and elegant paintings,it is also different from ink painters of the traditional Chinese painting and had the characteristics of printing. The graphic design works are mold by printing process so that inevitably pr has close relationship with the modern plane design graphic. Moreover,the point,line and plane of design elements are absorbed by the prints for refining the composition.Traditional print divides four types: Wood engraving, Copper etching, Lithograph and Screen print. The development of the times promotes the traditional print to the transition of contemporary printmaking,extending new edition forms of digital prints,dynamic prints,comprehensive prints and the other. Contemporary print-making smoothly get involved in modern graphic design field by common similarity. Its unique print language,form language,color language,materials language and technology language extends to the graphic design,enriching the creation technique of texture and collage,the common composition rules, bright and simple color and the innovation of digital imaging technology and expanding the expression of graphic design in further. But the ultimate factor determining the play of techniques is actually the guidance of thinking behind the contemporary print-making language. Therefore the clarity,creativity and practicality of thinking in print-making shapes the uniquely logical thinking,creative thinking and the form of practical and exploring thinking in contemporary print-making, stating the same view with the interface design, the book binding design and the brand image design of specific graphic areas in creation technique. In addition, it also makes the modern graphic design showing a rational,careful,innovative and natural style and features.This paper is divided into six chapter,The first section of this topic analyzes the research background at home and abroad, research purpose and significance, and put forward the ideas and methods of research. The second section describes an overview of print, analyzing the history and the current situation of print-making by the definition, characteristics and classification of print. The third chapter discusses the developing trend of traditional print to contemporary print, pointing out the reasons for the development of tradition to the present and the new version of contemporary print by the analysis of the characteristics and the problems of traditional print-making. The fourth chapter describes the intervention from contemporary print-making language to modern graphic design, analyzing the reasons for intervention, forms of intervention and the print thinking which dominates the brain conscious. The fifth chapter states the using of the contemporary print thinking to modern graphic design, analyzing the process that contemporary print thinking gets involved in modern graphic design,refining the specific way of thinking and analyzing the case of using specific ways of thinking to modern graphic design finally.
