| The abstract grammatical meaning and flexible usages of prepositions make it a difficult point in teaching Chinese as a second language. Among them, these four prepositions of"dui, dui yu, guanyu, xiang"are very difficult for foreign students, because they have similar and different usages, and it is very difficult to master all the usages of them. Furthermore, the current researches in this field are relatively scarce and lack of systematicness and coherence, which stimulates us to do some further studies on previous research findings. We discussed the grammatical meanings of the four prepositions through the studying of the verbs after them."Dui"means"facing","treating","aiming"and"concerning","duiyu"means"treating","aiming"and"concerning","guanyu"means"concerning", etc. Each lexicology of the prepositions has connection with the others though they have complicated grammatical meanings. So, we discuss the grammatical meanings of"dui"and"xiang"from the perspectives of cognitive linguistics, and find the connections. In order to help the overseas students understand the usages of prepositions, we analyzed these prepositions from syntax, semantics and pragmatics, etc. According to our error analysis by second language learners, we grouped those error sentences into four types: semantic, word order, redundancy and absence. To find a solution to some problems in our teaching materials and teaching method, we advise a stage teaching which fits the relationship between the meanings of preposition. |
