The Contrastive Study On Chinese Preposition "在" Expressing The Grammaticalizational Spatial Meaning And Relevant English Words And An Error Analysis

There are seven different meanings of preposition "在" which express the grammaticalizational spatial meaning. Such as condition, aspect, scope, event, active, abstract space,process,behavior.Starting from these different meanings view , language contrastive method was adopted to summarize the usage of preposition "在" which express the grammaticalizational spatial meaning in Chinese. All the relevant English words and expressions were summarized as well. And on the same meaning basis, the grammatical function was compared between English and Chinese.This Paper selected English speaking students as the object of research. It made full use of the conclusions of comparison to give an error analysis of English-speaking Chinese learners on Chinese preposition "zai" which expresses the grammaticalizational spatial meaning. It found out the reasons of errors and pointed out the methods to avoid the errors.
